BTC just printed another all-time high, and the loudest desks on Wall Street are quietly admitting their year-end targets were too low. Some now openly point at $500,000 a coin.

Bitcoin punched through a fresh record on Wednesday morning, extending a run that started the moment spot ETFs went mainstream and never quite cooled off. By the New York open, BTC was trading near levels that not long ago belonged to bear-market jokes and crypto Twitter memes.

The fuel mix is familiar but bigger than ever: ETF inflows that refuse to die, sovereign and corporate balance-sheet allocations, and a steady drumbeat of regulators waving rather than blocking. The shocking part is who is now in print with $500K targets — household-name banks that two years ago would have buried the call.

Bulls argue the next leg is structural rather than speculative. With supply locked into halvings and a growing chunk of float held by long-term holders, even modest demand keeps grinding the price up. Bears counter that any 10% drawdown still spooks a market that loves to pretend it does not.

For now, the tape is the tape. Holders are giddy, latecomers are nervous, and every desk on the Street is rewriting its risk model on the fly.
